Category 7A

Suitable for all ICT network applications up to class FA (1000MHz) in accordance with EN 50173-1 and ISO/IEC 11801 and for the transmission of broadband signals (such as cable TV) in accordance with IEC 15018. Due to the increased wire section Datwyler Category 7A cables will support Power over Ethernet (PoE), PoE+ and PoE++. Cables are now available with CPR fire performance Euroclass classification up to B2ca.

Modules

PS-GG45 7A Module “2-in-1“connector, shielded, Category 7A

  • The PS-GG45 Category 7A module is a shielded module, compatible with RJ45 and specified up to 1000MHz.
  • It was developed especially for applications beyond 10-gigabit Ethernet with highest bandwidths.
  • When used together with Category 7A data cables and patch cords, it enables to fulfil all class FA requirements for the 4-connector Channel in accordance with
  • ISO/IEC 11801 Amendment 1:2008.
  • The “2-in-1“connector has 12 contacts that work in two different transmission modes: Standard = RJ45 and High-speed = GG45.
  • Suitable for Power over Ethenet Plus (PoE+) corresponding to IEEE 802.3at.
  • Robust zinc die-casting housing with Keystone clip for easy installation in patch panels and faceplates with Keystone openings.
  • Quick and reliable wire-connections with the termination tool for GG45.

TERA module

This accepts 1-pair, 2-pair and 4-pair Tera plugs. Specified up to 1000MHz. When used together with Category 7A data cables, they fulfil all class FA requirements for applications such as 10-gigabit Ethernet.

ISO/IEC 11801 Ed 2.0 interface for category 7/class F. When installed as part of a TERA solution, each pair delivers up to 1.2 GHz of bandwidth exceeding the bandwidth of category 7A / class FA specifications. This extra bandwidth is critical in demanding applications such as broadband video, with an upper frequency requirement of 862 MHz. Broadband video, high speed data and voice applications can be supported simultaneously using a single 4- pair fully shielded (S/FTP) cable. TERA outlets can be used in both the work area and in the telecommunications room.

Cables

  • CU 7150 F8 Multimedia Data cable, S/FTP, Category 7A, AWG22, 1500MHz
  • CU 7702 Data cable, S/FTP, Category 7A, AWG22, 1300MHz
  • CU 7120 Data cable, S/FTP, Category 7A, AWG22, 1200MHz
  • Electrically and mechanically high quality Datwyler Category 7A data cables exceed the requirements of ISO/IEC 11801, IEC 61156-5, IEC 61156-7, EN 50173-1 and EN 50288-9-1.
  • Excellent shielding effect due to individually screened pairs and overall copper braid.
  • Easy identification of wires thanks to longitudinal colour markings.
  • Compatible with all current connecting hardware in accordance with EN 50173 and ISO/IEC 11801.

Patch Leads

Patch leads are available up to Category 7A; we offer GG-45 and PS-Terra leads & also RJ45 adapter leads (most equipment still uses an RJ45 interface). We also offer Cat6A patch leads as an option for future network migration.

Patch Panels

Datwyler’s shielded 19”/1U patch panels will accommodate up to 24 keystone modules – which are purchased separately. They come in a standard flat design (ideal for cabinets with limited front clearance) or in a space-saving angled version – which reduces the need for cable management panels.

Note: 48 port 1u and angled panels are also available however they are not suitable for Category 7A modules.

Outlets

Our modular connectors are designed to fit into a variety of outlets; for wall mounting, trunking, floor boxes and enclosures. Whatever the application, we can provide a faceplate, fascia or shutter to suit.
